TCEG joins the Open Source community in providing full support for users of ClamAV, which is a GPL command-line virus scanner.
With ClamAV, clients can feel more confident that the emails they receive are free of malware and fit for reading.
Nevertheless, we advise that computer users avoid double-clicking on attachments or selecting "open" from the right-click menu unless they are confident that the email originated from a reputable source or that the attachment is not executable.
Please note that unless special precautions have been taken, it is very difficult to verify that an email originates from the person from whom it seems to originate. In addition, most emails are sent in plain-text which can easily be intercepted. For this reason, it is not advisable to send important information such as your SIN or credit card number to others using email.
